U.S. Citizen Services

Busan and Daegu services now require an appointment by calling U.S. Embassy Seoul.  To make an appointment for service in Busan or Daegu on any of the American Citizen Services visit dates below, please call 02-397-4114 any weekdays between 8:45 – 11:15 am and 12:30 – 4:30 pm.  The only way to schedule an ACS appointment in Busan or Daegu is by calling 02-397-4114.

The U.S. Embassy in Seoul is responsible for all consular services to American Citizens throughout Korea.  Please visit the American Citizens Services website to learn more about services available to American Citizens in Korea.  If you cannot find the information you are looking for or have further questions, please e-mail the Consular Information Unit (seoulinfoACS@state.gov) at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul.

The U.S. Embassy sends representatives to the Busan American Presence Post on a monthly basis to provide routine services, including passports, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and notarizations, as well as provide information on federal benefits and voting from overseas.  In March we will be providing ACS services in Daegu.  However, we will be in Busan in April.  Please check our website and the Embassy’s ACS newsletter for details on these visits. To help you with planning, the following are the dates when the Embassy's American Citizen Services Unit will provide consular services at the American Presence Post for the upcoming months:  

• April 23, 2012 
  American Presence Post in Busan
  1:00 pm-4:00 pm
• April 24, 2012
  American Presence Post in Busan
  9:00 am - 12:00 noon

An appointment is required for services in both Busan and Daegu.  Call the U.S. Embassy to schedule an appointment at 02-397-4114.  Please specify that you would like to make an appointment for consular services at Busan or Daegu and which date you would prefer (it can be any of those listed above).  Be sure to call by noon on the Friday prior to the visit.  Please call early to reserve your preferred appointment date/time.

Customers will only be permitted to enter the APP office up to 15 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment.  

Please note that payments for the American Citizen Services we provide in Busan may only be made in cash (Korean Won or U.S. dollars) or by money order. For services in Daegu only money orders will be accepted. Please consult the ACS webpage for details: http://seoul.usembassy.gov/acs_service.html
