Consul Jonathan Lee Yoo

Jon Yoo is glad to return to the Republic of Korea, where he began his Foreign Service career in 2006 as a consular officer and staff assistant to the Ambassador in Seoul.  He subsequently served as a staff assistant to the Deputy Chief of Mission in Baghdad and a political/economic officer in Shenyang and Vladivostok.  Jon was born in Iowa City, Iowa and grew up near Seattle, Washington before attending Northwestern University where he earned a B.A. in History and Slavic Studies, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was elected Phi Beta Kappa.  He speaks Korean and Russian.
